Back Home Again

9:58 AM

Brrr!! It's cold out there! Hope you all are staying warm! We have had to break out the space heater cause it's been like an igloo in here and the heat is turned up as far as it can go!

Anyways, another Christmas has come and gone. It's amazing to think how fast the months go by. Jason and I were blessed to be able to go back to my hometown this Christmas. With such a big adventure awaiting us in 2015, we wanted to make sure we got to see friends and family while we could.

It has been a convenient trip for us because we needed some repair work done on our car and some extensive maintenance done in the apartment (which they didn't do in the apartment turns out). I found a rental car at a good price for our 9 day trip and from there we had a smooth ride down south.

The first four days we stayed with my family at their house. This was over Christmas Eve and Christmas. I got to spend time with my little brothers and sister, married sister, brother in law, and my new niece. Such a sweet little package she is. Our family just keeps growing!!! Later my brother and his girlfriend came back in town. We brought in the New Year with them too which will be in a later post.
I was determined to take pictures for the memories. I haven't remembered to do that too well in the past, but I was able to get some decent pictures. Some are fuzzy cause of the lighting, but you get the idea. :)

Sis and brother in law and my beautiful first niece!

Most of my family minus 1.

Jason surprised me and picked me up like this haha

Family puzzle time! We did this over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Don't know what's going on with our eyes in the picture on the left. Too much lighting issues I guess haha.

Amongst the time visiting with family we met with some friends of mine too. Good friendships are the best. :)

Later in the week we had an open house at my previous home for those who wanted to come visit us. I unfortunately didn't get much pictures of this. :( When so many people are around, I often get overwhelmed and forget to take pictures. However I did snag one with my other besty! We've been through so much together and are going to be lifelong friends. :)

That evening Jason went to one of my bridesmaid's boyfriend's house and I had a girl's night with two of my other bridesmaids and some friends. We went to the Bonefish Grill. My first time! I ordered a delicious but rich basil fettucini pasta with salmon. Mmmm...

I then surprised my fourth bridesmaid and friend by showing up where Jason was. We played a fast pace trivia game (which I was terrible at) and later watched Guardians of the Galaxy. One of the best movies I have ever seen! We of course did some catching up too.
Later in our 9 day visit, we stayed at my old house. We met with some more friends, went to my old church, and had lunch with my Pastor and a few of my church family. With the flu going around, knocking people out in droves as well as travel, the church was scarce that morning. We still had a nice visit with those who did make it.

After church lunch we visited with our friends who hosted Jason when he would come visit me when were dating. They have been so generous and good to us.
Monday we had lunch with some more friends and then that afternoon long into evening and the wee hours of the morning we spent time with another of my bridesmaids and close friends. We get so silly together! We shared some great deep conversations too as well as a fancy pasta dinner. :)

Tuesday was supposed to be leaving day to head to some friend's house for New Year's, but she came down with illness which caused us to have to cancel our plans. This just meant we got to spend some more time with my spiritual Mama (my former roommate) and family. Love her.

It's been a grand visit coming back home. I am writing a specific New Year's post of what God is doing in our lives in 2015, some inspiration, things he has revealed, is working on, and what's ahead for us. I'll get that out as soon as possible.

For now one last belated Merry Christmas till next year!

Thank you for following and hope you enjoyed all the pictures!
