Three Kids, a Fort, and a Park

10:07 AM

Tuesday we had so much fun with our niece while she is on spring break! The morning started out with our niece building a fort out of our dining room chairs and blankets along with a stuffed animal ballroom dance event. I put some oldies classic music on my Pandora which lead to a swingin' and rumba dance between me and Jason in the living room! That's what we do best. Make memories!

While on my laptop doing some work, I overheard an attack and capture plan ensuing between Jason and our niece over the capture of Queen "Hello Kitty" who sat on her throne enjoying the ballroom dance entertainment. Before I knew it, Jason was attacking the fort and grabbing "the Queen" which turned into a full on chase around the fort. I tried my best to get pictures with all the movement going on.

Niece: "Give her back! If you don't give her back, I will take her out of your hands!"

Jason: "I'm the King now and I have captured the Queen. She is going to bow down to me now as her King in my Kingdom!"

Niece: "Oh no you DIDN'T just capture my Queen! Give her back or I will destroy you!"

Jason: "She's my Queen and I planned the attack so I get the Queen! Eeeee!"
Niece: "Pleeeeeease give her back!!! *Giggle giggle*
Jason: "Only if you can reach her!"
Jason: "She's already bowing down to me as her King. So she's mine now."

Niece: "That's it! I'm taking her back and saving the Kingdom!"
Jason: "I'm going to take the King, the Queen's husband and so now I WIN!"

I can officially deem Jason the "fun Uncle". :D

After a successful capture by Jason, we had some lunch and then headed out to go to a park, get Jason's haircut, and run a couple errands. The park was a blast!! We channeled our inner child and enjoyed every bit of the joyful time together. There were some kids already at the park playing tag with a soccer ball.

After they left another family was there. They turned out to be Christians and expressed how encouraged and blessed they felt meeting us. We conversed while the kids played and even jumped in with their kids in a good game of tag. Jason and our niece even had a jumping off the swing contest. That always makes me nervous but it made for some great shots! This park is one I look forward to revisiting. There are several long walking and hiking trails I'd like to return to soon. :)
She met a new friend too. :)
