Happy 241st Birthday Marine Corps!

9:12 PM

WHAT A MORNING! This morning we attended our very first birthday pageant for the Marine Corps. It was educational and fascinating watching the parade of different Marines dressed in period uniforms all throughout war history. I noticed how much the uniform has changed over the years to today's. Every one is so classy and sharp looking. ESPECIALLY today's current uniform.

To have this VIP invitation is a privilege and honor. I never thought in my life I would be able to attend such events, but God is so good to bless us in this way!
Here are some pictures I took of our day. :)

241st Marine Corps Birthday Pageant

Our Current Uniforms
Uniforms of the past
Time for cake!
The General slices the cake and is served the first piece.
The second slice goes to the oldest Marine present in the Marine Corps.
A tradition of many years.
The oldest Marine then passes the slice to the youngest Marine of the Corps next to him.
Jason once was this honorable member at a Marine Corps ball!
The cake is then rolled away by escort. So official!
The General takes the stage to give a speech!
He has the children in the far back bleachers
shout "Happy Birthday Marine Corps!" Too cute!
The Marines then were to have a turn.
They shouted with passion and conviction "Oorah!"
Jason's honorable boss, the General.
After the pageant Jason got to work flanking the General
as he handed out gift coins to the participants as a thank you.
The Marine Corps is so classy!
I got a good close up shot of all the different uniforms! So historical!
And these next shots deserve to stand alone.
Me and the beautiful, kindhearted General's wife.
She is such a great role model that I hope to emulate.
A sweet spirit and pleasant person to be around.
Cue *squinty eyes*
And of course had to get a shot with the distinguished and also very kind General Mullen himself!
WHAT AN HONOR!
Joined my new sweet friend and prayer partner in CWF (Christian Women's Fellowship).
Blessings all around! He's so tall or we are so short! :D
Jason had the privilege to meet and talk with our U.S. Congressman of
California's 8th District, Congressman Colonel Cook! A very nice man!
God brought us bonded friendships in the Marine Corps:
The Colonel's lovely daughter and my 29 Palms sister!!
Seriously I think we look eerily alike!
After the celebration we hit the chow hall for a steak and lobster lunch!
I ate most all of this ya'll including a strawberry topped cheesecake slice. So YUM!
Marines digging in!

Lastly, yours truly:
A handsome hunk of a Marine and his Mrs. ❤︎❤︎❤︎
"Happy 241st Birthday Marine Corps! Thank you for being so good to us." ❤︎
