Las Vegas Part 2: 241st Marine Corps Birthday Ball

4:18 PM

Aaaand I'm back for Vegas part 2! This is the second post in my Vegas series. First post can be found here: Las Vegas Part I: Exploring the City.

Let's get to the real reason we were visiting Vegas! The Marine Corps birthday ball that is held every year.

We got ready with some friends from 29 which was a blast. Ladies getting ready together is a great idea in case something goes wrong like HAIR. I'm amazed though that I managed to curl my own hair and do my own makeup this year without any trouble or fuss! It went almost too smoothly and shocked me! Of course it took no time for Jason and the guys to get ready. That's never an issue. :P

At the ball they did a repeat of the Birthday Pageant that I posted about here: Happy 241st Birthday Marine Corps!. I wanted to take pictures of this event since everything was right up close to us, but the lighting in there wasn't that great.

It was neat how each of the Marines walked down the middle of the ballroom wearing the different era uniforms and telling bits about each war they were in. A group of men rushed in recreating the Iwo Jima statue. The picture can be seen HERE along with a few other pictures from that night. We actually made it in one of the professional pictures! Can you see us? :D

Every year the ladies dress up in gorgeous gowns which is a highlight the wives look forward to each year. This year I noticed that sparkles and sequins were the top choice for many. Doesn't surprise me with it being Vegas!

Here's the pictures you all have been begging me for. :) Some of them are fuzzy because of the lighting being so low. I hope you'll still enjoy them!

Marine Corps Ball
Our table setting and dinner.
We had a juicy and flavorful filet mignon, the creamiest tastiest mashed potatoes,
carrots, and asparagus. Preceded by a salad and cheesy rolls. Followed by cake.
This meal was so delicious.

Us sitting at the table:
Jason is wearing the "aiguillette". It is a gold cord worn at the
ball to signify that he is the General's Aide. Pretty fancy.

Some grainy selfies...Had no idea he was making these faces till I looked back at the pictures haha.

US
AND FRIENDS!

Me and the CWF Board President. Such a sweet and inspiring lady!
My 29 Palms sister and her brother's girlfriend.
We got ready together for the ball!
Group shot with General Mullen, and his wife. Love this picture!
My gorgeous dear friend and I in our sparkles! She is also the head Chaplain's wife.
She reminds me of a queen!
Jason's coworker and his wife

The most epic photobomb EVER by our General! HAHAHA!

After the ball we changed and explored Caesar's Palace. There is so much to see in that place but we found some chapels and hung around those. We ended up leaving that area early because a creepy guy was following us...

Jason and the ham that he is posed at the pulpits in each of the chapels. 😂

This spiral staircase and hallway were grand! Wish I could have gotten a picture of the whole thing!
I had to have my own fun. Modeling with a statue. :P
Our official Autumn picture
Love how this turned out.

While leaving the next morning we stopped by McD's for breakfast.
I got a frappe and a mcgriddle. Haven't had either in a long time and it was so refreshing!

Headed back home!
I hope you enjoyed reading about our Vegas trip and the pictures as always!

Here's a few last ones. Our professional ball pictures for this year. :)
I don't think they could have turned out any better.
Till next year.
